Ploomie Lewis
Ploomie currently holds fundraisers to buy instruments and equipment for the music department at Intermediate High School. He visits the school regularly to make the donations in person and offer advice and mentorship to the current students. He will make his 4th visit to the school in May, 2026, and is hosting another fundraiser in September 2026 to benefit IHS.
The artist known simply as “Ploomie,” has been performing and winning over crowds all over the world with his signature bass licks and smooth vocals since the tender age of 11. Born on the island of Curacao and raised in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Ploomie led two bands – Revolution and Polyphonies – and has performed on stage with Masta Mind, The Mighty Sparrow, Arrow, Calypso Rose, The Meters, Three Plus One, Fab Five, Singing Francine, Beckett, Shadow, and Strings, just to name a few.
His current project, tentatively titled “Prophecy”, hosts the track “Somethin’ Ah Tryin” (featuring Bejizean rapper, Jermie Walker) and has garnered more than 100,000 hits on YouTube and is still climbing. His connection to the country of Belize dates back to a 2012 visit, which be originally intended to work with a top producer, ultimately resulted in a spiritual and culturaJ introduction to the Garifuna people.
Ploomie has made quite a name for himself as an amazing bass player and showman, adding the steel pan into the mix in more recent years. You haven’t seen the best of his work yet, so look out for what’s coming next!
